I wanted to share a few lessons learned from this Reel that might be helpful to you as well!
- People take action when you tell them to.
For this Reel, our call to action was to “SHARE THIS with a friend who needs to know!” which resulted in 286 shares – the most shares on a single post our client has had in the last year! If you find yourself only ever using the call to action to work with you or purchase from you, know that there is SO much power in switching it up and focusing your CTAs on attraction from time to time. For example…share with a friend, save for later, or follow for more.
2. Making a bold statement or taking a bold stance in your content will set you apart from everyone else on Instagram.
In this Reel, we asked our client to film herself sharing that Pilates, barre and cardio classes won’t get you lean and toned like strength training does. Of course, this ruffled some feathers and some weren’t nice in the comment section, but because so many women needed to hear this message and so many DIDN’T know how they were supposed to exercise to achieve their desired result, this Reel also led to comments of praise and continued sharing with those who needed to know. All of which led to these awesome results! Ask yourself: what’s a bold stance you could take in YOUR industry? Create a Reel of you talking about it and see what happens!
3. Face-to-camera is KING in 2024.
2023 was the year of b-roll, but 2024 is the year of face-to-camera content (filming yourself talking to the camera). TikTok has been ALLLL about this and we notice it performing well on Instagram too – surprise surprise, Instagram is like the friend that’s always late to the party!
4. Your Reel doesn’t have to be 5 seconds to get a lot of views!
In 2023, what worked well was 5-8 second videos. Now, longer form video is performing well too! When I say longer form, I mean 1 minute and beyond! This Reel we created was 1:30 and it knocked it out of the park at 69.8K views and counting.
