Rental car DISASTER.

The YOU Factor Edit

BECAUSE THE ALGORITHM CAN’T REPLICATE WHAT ONLY YOU CAN BRING

Madie here!

We just got back from Daytona Beach, where my daughter Mila competed at her national dance competition and let me tell you, we earned that vacation badge.

We had booked our rental car through a new veteran travel membership and paid in full, all set, ready to go. But after a delayed flight and a lot of juggling two kids and a carry-on full of all the dance supplies… we arrived to find out they had already given our car away.

Apparently, in the fine print, there was a two-hour window. If you didn't arrive within that timeframe, even if it was paid in full, they could release the vehicle.

Cue the moment: frustration, exhaustion, and a child teetering on the edge of a hangry meltdown.

We had to pivot. Back to the airport. Try again.

And thankfully, the lovely folks at Enterprise helped us find a sedan that could get us where we were going. And we made it.

But you know what?

THAT MOMENT—WHILE CHAOTIC—GAVE US WAY MORE THAN WE EXPECTED.

It gave us patience.

It gave us an opportunity to navigate a challenge together.
It gave us appreciation for kind strangers.
It gave us a laugh (eventually).
And it gave us a story to tell when we finally arrived.
Oh, and a solid reminder to always read the fine print.

And you know what it also reminded me of?

CONTENT THAT “FLOPS.”

Reels that don't land. Posts that don't get likes. Stories that feel like they disappeared into the void.

Because just like that rental car experience, those “off” posts still give you something valuable.

  • They give you data.

  • They give you clarity.

  • They give you the push to pivot.

  • And if you let them—they give you freedom.

FREEDOM TO TRY SOMETHING NEW.

Freedom to get curious.

Freedom to take the feedback (via analytics, not emotion) and reroute.

AND THAT’S THE BEAUTY OF A CONTENT STRATEGY THAT’S BUILT AROUND YOU.

You don't have to perform.
You get to experiment.
You get to make it your own.

And you get to evolve based on real insight, not panic or perfectionism.

So if you're coming out of the holiday break feeling a little unmotivated or like your recent content didn't land… don't scrap the whole thing.

Zoom out. Look at what worked. What didn't. What felt good to create—and what didn't.

Then pivot. Adjust. Try again.

Because the best content creators aren't the ones who always get it “right.”

They're the ones who stay in motion. They continue to learn, test, reroute, and keep their voice at the center of it all.

That's real freedom.

And it's one pivot away.

xoxo,

Madie
